Rambling.Rambling and Hill walking are what I like most of all, (followed closely to drinking real ale) I find it a lot more enjoyable then walking on flat farm land in Lincolnshire going from one village to another. I have two Border Collie's and they just love the hills. I am not just a fine day walker, I love going out in all weathers and all seasons. We all go out , the wife, dogs and I. My Latest Walk: Gower Region, South Wales.I didn't so much ramble, it was more coastal/beach walking/ strolling. The Gower region is a buitifull area to explore with lots of bays to enjoy.I was only there a week and I saw only a fraction of the area, so I'll be going back as soon as I can to explore more of the region. I visited Rhossili Bay, Oxwich Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Caswell Bay (no dogs in summer) and The mumbles. The biggest walk I did was from Rhossili, Which I climbed Rhossili Down heading north to Hillend were there is a caravan and camping site. From Hillend I went over the dunes to the beach and headed back to Rhossili were i enjoyed a pint. Another walk I did was from Oxwich (Which I visited 3 times) along the beach to Three Cliffs Bay which can only be done at low tide. A Recent walk: Scafell.I did climb up to Scafell when I had a holiday in Lake District and stopped for a week in the Eskdale Valley. I started across the road from Wha House Farm, Eskdale (where I was stopping for the week). I followed the slight side path to Scafell, then went down the Hard Rigg path passing Burnmoor Tarn back to Boot Village for Food and drink. A long but pleasant days rambling. A Walk to Hawkshead Moor.A Walk round Tarn Hows.A walk from Grasmere. |
